Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026.

Agreement to terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you and SecondLine Inc. ("SecondLine", "we", "us"). They govern your use of our website, mobile apps, virtual phone numbers, and any related services (the "Service"). If you don't agree with any part of these Terms, please don't use SecondLine.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use SecondLine, and at least 18 to enter a paid subscription. By using the Service you confirm that you meet these requirements and that you can lawfully form a binding contract in your jurisdiction.

Your account

You're responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us immediately at security@secondline.app if you suspect unauthorized access. We strongly recommend enabling two-factor authentication.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use SecondLine to:

  • Send spam, robocalls, or unsolicited bulk messages.
  • Engage in fraud, phishing, impersonation, or identity theft.
  • Harass, threaten, stalk, or intimidate any person.
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or any harmful code.
  • Violate any applicable law, regulation, or third-party right.
  • Resell, sublicense, or redistribute virtual numbers without our written permission.
  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service or its underlying infrastructure.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without notice depending on the severity of the violation.

Subscriptions and billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date. You can cancel at any time from your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period.

Add-ons (extra numbers, international minutes, premium features) are billed as used or in prepaid bundles. All fees are non-refundable except where required by law or expressly stated by us.

Number portability

Subject to carrier rules and applicable regulations, you may port eligible numbers in or out of SecondLine. Porting can take 1–14 business days and may incur a one-time fee. Numbers that are inactive for 90 days may be released back to the carrier pool.

Service availability

We aim for 99.9% monthly uptime, but we don't guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure at all times. Maintenance, carrier outages, or events outside our control may temporarily affect availability.

Emergency services

SecondLine numbers are not a replacement for traditional phone service and may not reliably reach emergency services such as 911, 112, or 999. Always keep an alternate means of contacting emergency responders available.

Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, logos, and content, is owned by SecondLine and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. You retain all rights to the content you create or transmit through SecondLine.

Termination

You may close your account at any time from your settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, or use the Service in ways that risk harm to other users or to us. Upon termination, your data will be handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, SecondLine disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SecondLine's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or (b) one hundred US dollars (US$100). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold SecondLine harmless from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration in San Francisco, California, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for intellectual property disputes. You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of creating your account by emailing legal@secondline.app.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. Material changes will be announced at least 30 days in advance by email or in-app notice. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
